Play Areas

Crewkerne Town Council continues to give children’s play areas a high priority and to ensure that there are regular, independent safety surveys of all play equipment and surfaces in order to maintain a high standard of service provision. The Council owns and manages several play areas (Henhayes, Happy Valley and Southmead):​

​Henhayes Playground ​

​Address: South Street, Crewkerne, TA18 7JS​.

​Things to See and Do ​

  • Play area suitable from toddlers to teens (includes play tower and moat, various swings, climbing frames and roundabout)​
  • Benches to relax and enjoy a picnic while you play​
  • Close to town centre shops and amenities – why not have a swim at the next door Aqua Centre?​
  • Wheelchair accessible
  • Accessible roundabout

Things to Note ​

– Although well behaved dogs are allowed on Henhayes field, strictly no dogs within the gated play area.​

 ​Happy Valley​

​Address: Kithill, Crewkerne, TA18 8AS. ​

​Things to See and Do ​

  • Sandpit and play frame​
  • Zip wire​
  • Benches to relax and enjoy the surrounds​

​Things to Note ​

  • Dogs are permitted under close control at Happy Valley​
  • Please park considerately as there is no official parking​

Southmead​

​Address: Southmead Crescent, Crewkerne, TA18 8DL​.

​This is a small play area on the edge of a housing estate to the south of the town and within easy reach of Happy Valley. In October 2012 new, brightly coloured safety surfacing was installed under the swings, roundabout and see-saw, and further work creatively painting bare walls and floors with local children was completed in 2016.​
