Crewkerne Town Council have worked in partnership with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) and Somerset Council (SC) to refurbish the two courts at Severalls. Both courts adjacent to the Bowls Club have been fully renovated, with an investment of £45,000 which has ensured the provision of this high quality facility to the local community.
The project is part of a nationwide investment by the UK Government and LTA Tennis Foundation, delivered by the LTA, to refurbish public tennis courts across Great Britain, and open up the sport to many more people. Public tennis courts are crucial in providing opportunities for children and adults to get active, delivering significant physical and mental health and wellbeing benefits to participants.
The courts were officially re-opened to the public in the autumn of 2023, following a few years where they had been closed due to their deteriorating condition.
Crewkerne Town Council is pleased to be able to offer tennis facilities once more in the town and hope you enjoy playing on our quality courts.
Receipts from court bookings and annual passes are reserved for the future maintenance and upkeep of the courts.
