Local Government Transparency Code

The Local Government Transparency Code 2015 requires local councils to publish specified information to increase transparency and accountability. This enables local people to see and understand how public money is spent, how assets are used, and how decisions are made.

The Code applies to town and parish councils with an annual gross income or expenditure (whichever is higher) exceeding £200,000. Crewkerne Town Council meets this threshold and therefore complies with the requirements of the Code.

In addition to the requirements of the Code, the Council is committed to broader transparency and good governance, including clear publication of financial information, governance documents, and data protection arrangements (including maintenance of a Record of Processing Activities).
