Local Heritage List – nominations open

Residents of Crewkerne are now able to nominate locally important buildings, structures, designed landscapes, places and sites to be considered on the new Local Heritage Lists.

This process is meant to make it easy for everyone to get involved by nominating the heritage important to the local area. After all, no one knows and loves Crewkerne better than those who live here!

Local Heritage Lists will provide a free to access public record of non-designated heritage assets, whose conservation will become a material consideration in planning matters. It’s a way of recognising assets and places which enrich our surroundings, even if they don’t qualify for national listing.

You can do this online, and find out more about the assessment criteria by visiting swheritage.org.uk/local-heritage-list.

Or you can send a letter or a postcard to:

Local Heritage List, Somerset Heritage Centre, Brunel Way, Norton Fitzwarren, TAUNTON, TA2 6SF.

The South West Heritage Trust is keen to receive nominations by the end of August 2022.
