As part of Crewkerne’s VE Day 80 commemorations, a specially commissioned plaque was unveiled on 6th May at Townsend Cemetery, marking the 19 Commonwealth war graves located there.
Royal British Legion members, veterans and representatives of the Crewkerne & West Crewkerne Joint Burial Committee gathered for the occasion, with veteran Terry Austin proudly unveiling the plaque — thoughtfully crafted by Bill from Crewkerne Shed.
The plaque is now on display outside the Cemetery chapels for all to visit and reflect.
