Paul was brought up in Somerset and went to school and college here. His parents lived in Crewkerne and it has been his local town for 22 years. He has been a District Councillor since 2011 and is currently the Chairman of South Somerset District Council. He has also been a County Councillor. Paul has had a long and successful career in local government and is a qualified horticulturalist.
